There is life after Uganda Cranes.

So Uganda Cranes disappointed us as usual, and very many people were sad. People were hopeful that the 38year jinx was finally coming to an end. We really expected better even when history clearly has taught us that Uganda Cranes have a habit of  bailing on the nation when it really matters. They never lose outright so that you walk way happy  with your heart intact. They play with our emotions starting with an exciting streak, the losing a bit and finally finding themselves in a position where they need just a draw or their going through to the next round dependent on another team in  the group losing. So I  think these guys have played with our feelings enough and its time to let go. Its really like cutting ties with a horrible boyfriend constantly telling you things will change and after a few good gestures returns to his old disappointing self.
Anyway  moving on, I thought I should come up with a list of things to do after the Cranes game.
#thereislifeafterugandacranes
Let your sporting weekend be anything but football. This weekend explore Formula one, cricket , baseball, tennis. anything but football. For some of us our premiership teams will be playing and the likelihood they will lose is great. So to avoid being disappointed too many a time this week switch up your sporting weekend and try some other sport. in any case you can always catch the highlights of the game.
Create a playlist that has nothing to do victory   because all day yesterday we were listening to victory songs in a bid to prepare for the time the jinx is finally broken. So do a dance playlist and with this weather your boss will understand you are trying to be warm and no one will suspect you are trying to get over the cranes disappointment.
stay off social media......
This one is a trick, even for me. People are giving there opinions and how the coach could have done better( including me), which player could have featured in what position and possibly done a better job and delivered a better result. Some comments made makes you want to jump on the commenting band wagon and some just makes you want to punch someone. So its okay to keep away from twitter and Facebook, whats app and the like for a while until the storm clears.
Its a bad week to name your son ANDY or anything related.
You see from yesterday's game, Ugandans concluded our troubles began and ended with captain Andy Mwesigwa. So if you are due this week and Andy was the perfect name , its time to start considering your other choices. You do not want  your child to be a reminder of the time we were so close an then lost for like the a zillionth time.
The point here is Uganda cranes we love that you are consistent in breaking our hearts and discouraging young talented boys from wanting to attempt to aspire to join the national team. Thank you for making us run to leave our desks early to catch your game only to get the same results as always. WE APPLAUD YOUR CONSITENCY!!!!!
