Your kid's interests matter

So, today I began a blog.I am at that stage in life where things are starting to fall in place not at my own pace but at least I have something going.
Uganda has a problem of drilling kids in school without a what next plan!

After O-level in Uganda, you either go to a vocational institution or go ahead to attend A-level. Since most of us are groomed to believe that white collar jobs pay more we opt to go for A-level. The problem arises with the insistence that a child does sciences or does  what the parent views is appropriate. Most children in this country just go with the flow no one takes time to find out what they are good at. So we end up doing what others want and finally graduate and stuck doing a job where you are counting hours to the end of the day.You hang in there because it pays the bills.

All am saying is children need to be vocal about their interests and parents need to stop stifling them in hopes the child will forget about their interests.  You don't want regrets, when you are finally done with campus, you start plotting how to do what you love when you could have from the start done that. Take it from someone who is living it.
